We Did It!
I can't tell you how special this is. Little Liam actually insisted that I put this up on his blog. Congrats to the Cardinals and also a big Congrats to the Tigers. What made this post season special was the storied history these two teams have against each other in the post season. I have little mind for what the east-coast biased media has to say about the 'viewership' of this postseason...any true fan of the sport can tell you that BOTH St. Louis and Detroit are huge baseball towns and have great fans (unlike Yankees! or Mets, even worse). So, here's a big round of applause to both teams and most especially to the Cardinals for coming thru for a city who loves their team. (p.s. for cardinal's fans, this is a great read: http://www.ksdk.com/sports/sports_article.aspx?storyid=106293)

Check out my new hat!
A big THANKYOU! to TiaLindz for my new hat. Just in time for winter, too. It's been a while since a little update, so I thought I'd start with this photo as it does well to illustrate that Liam has learned one of the most important lessons of his childhood: The best place to play ball is INSIDE the house. Seriously, he's developing at a tremendous rate these days....running around the house, kicking his little soccer ball (Thanks to Uncle Todd for showing him this trick!) and also learing lots and lots of new words. He now knows lots of words and seems to pick up a new one every day or so. Top of his list are: Teets (treats, for Gibson of course), eyes, nose, ears, teeks (cheeks, which he says as he pinches your teeks, toes, up, down (both of which he uses many times a day as he is either telling you to pick him up or put him down), he loves the word Ba (ball, which he uses for his soccer ball or gibson's tennis ball), wowers (of course), yoos (shoes), yuks (socks), baby, woka (rocker, which i'm most impressed by!), boy, girl, house, bok (block), puppy, doggie, eyeper (diaper), own (bone, i think), poopu (purple, his favorite color of wowers), ipo (hippo, one of his favorite toys), knee, kwock (clock, as in 'There's a Zlock behind the Clock', what you've never heard that one?), hat, buk (book), happy (his favorite book right now is The Happy Bee's & after a good session of reading it a time or two or eight, he'll cruise around the house saying HappyB, HappyB!!), apple, poon (spoon), cup, ugo (juice, or hugo in spanish), kwaker (crackers, which are delish!), gowdish (goldfish, by far his favorite cracker), car, tuk (truck).....and probably more that I can't think of right now. It's really amazing to watch him develop so quickly...scary too!
That's all from the Buckeye State on this fine saturday morning (Liam was up at 6, napping by 9. probably not too different than those tailgaters!). Love to all, LiamRay

Swim Lessons!
As many of you already know, we signed up for infant swim lessons, and it has turned out to be great. There is a whole separate pool just for the infants (<2yrs), with a waterfall area, a little slide, a gentle whirlpool area and at the far end of the pool there are lots of little bubble coming up from the pool floor. We usually walk him across the pool to the bubble area to get him used to the water. By the way, there are no real 'swim lessons' per say, but rather just loosley structured play time, which really makes it all that more enjoyable. (except when they force me to play hokey-pokey in the pool....that part I could do without!)
